Network Studies

Take control of your logistics network with in-depth analysis

At NT Logistics, we understand that as your business grows, your logistics network becomes more complex. But have you stopped to think about whether your current setup is working for you? Our Network Studies are designed to give you a clear picture of how your logistics network is performing and where improvements can be made. Whether it’s reducing shipping costs, improving delivery times, or optimizing your routes, we’ve got the tools to help you get there.

How Network Studies help you:

Network studies help organize where products come from, where they are stored, and how they are moved. They look at things like where raw materials are sourced, where warehouses are located, the best places to manufacture, and how long it takes to transport everything. They also help balance demand so there aren’t big spikes or dips.

Find the best place to store products:

  • This helps businesses figure out where to keep their products so they can be delivered quickly and at a lower cost.

Plan smarter delivery routes:

  • This makes sure products and materials are moved in the fastest and cheapest way possible.

Keep demand steady:

  • This helps avoid big spikes or dips in how much product is needed, making it easier to keep up with orders without wasting time or money.

Why it matters for your business:

As your business grows, so does the complexity of getting products from suppliers to customers. A network study helps simplify this, making sure your supply chain is set up for maximum efficiency. It means better locations for your warehouses, smoother deliveries, and lower costs.

Network Studies in Action: Success Stories

Food and Beverage
Challenge: NT Logistics identified inefficiencies in the distribution network of a leading food and beverage manufacturer during an analysis of six months of “as shipped” data.

Solution: After running a network study, we proposed consolidating operations into a single, central warehouse in Auburn, NY, focusing on optimizing Freight to Customer (FTC) and Freight to Storage (FTS). This strategy aimed to reduce operational complexities while enhancing efficiency.

Result: The consolidation would result in an annual cost increase of $325k for the larger warehouse, but by eliminating the expenses associated with four additional locations, the overall efficiency of the distribution network would be significantly improved.
