(Frisco, Texas – December 8, 2021) – NT Logistics, Inc., a transportation management and logistics service company, announces its Founder & CEO Lynn Gravley has been named a 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner by the University of North Texas.
Gravley, a 1987 graduate, has consistently given back to the UNT over the ensuing decades. A tribute video featuring Gravley shares the story fuller.
“To be honored as a UNT Distinguished Alumni is a wow moment. When I look back on my life and the opportunities that I’ve had, UNT was the genesis and a very pivotal part of my becoming who I am,” says Gravley. “My involvement with the University continues because I’m so proud of it. The advances that have been made and the efforts of leadership is putting us in a whole new plane.”
“Lynn brings an unselfish commitment back to the University. Every time I talk to Lynn, the last thing he says is, ‘What can I do for you?’ Whether it’s helping an individual student get a job or helping a program, he helps at all levels and rolls up his sleeves,” shares Dr. Brian Sauser, professor at G. Brint Ryan College of Business, University of North Texas.
He serves on the board of advisors for UNT’s G. Brint Ryan College of Business. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) as well as the chair of the Highway Logistics Conference for TIA.
In addition to Gravley’s personal commitment, NT Logistics sponsors the annual Capstone Course and Competition for the logistics graduates. Gravley believes that it gives the students a chance to experience a real-world problem and offer tools and ways of thinking and problem-solving.
For Gravley, UNT is a family affair. His wife earned her master’s degree at UNT, and his youngest son and his brother earned their undergraduate degrees at the University.
First presented in 1965, the Distinguished Alumni Award is one of the university’s most prestigious awards. The award, given by the UNT Alumni Association, recognizes professional achievement and significant contributions to society and the university. While in college, Gravley was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and shares that the organization also well prepared him for the business environment.
